Herb Schreiner (82) was born in Hawaii and was in school before he enlisted. His military service was carried out from 1949 to 1960. During his service period, he went to Seoul and was stationed at Kimpo Air Base from August of 1953. He served in the 4th Fighter Group and the 91st Fighter Squad as a Sergeant TSGT before his discharge. He was in charge of aircraft mechanics and F86-Saber sets, and played a role in keeping the airways safe for ground troops. After he returned from that rotation, he went to Hickam, and after he was discharged, he did construction work. His most memorable experience from the war was helping those less who were fortunate and those who had suffered the pains of war. What impacted him most during the war was the lifestyle. Now, he enjoys fishing, golfing, and travelling.
